Marin County Parks and Open Space Department

Marin County manages 43 public parks and facilities, from small neighborhood pocket parks to mutli-acre beachfront recreation areas. Thanks to Measure A, many projects are underway to maintain and improve park infrastructure and preserve our parks for future generations.


Integrated Pest Management

Marin County departments have an important role in minimizing pollutants at county facilities. The county's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program helps reduce pesticide use and protect the health of the public and environment. Marin County Parks is responsible for managing the IPM program. MORE

McInnis Marsh Restoration

The North End Wetland Enhancement and Sea Level Rise Adaptation Project is the result of a culmination of over 20 years of active participation and contributions from the communitys of Bolinas and Stinson Beach. MORE

McNears Beach Park Master Plan

In June 2014, Marin County Parks contracted with the Office of Cheryl Barton for development of a master plan for McNears Beach Park in San Rafael. MORE

McNears Beach Park Pier Repair Project

Through a 2013 grant sponsored by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (an outcome of the Cosco Busan oil spill of 2007), design plans were developed to repair the pier and the repair project is underway. MORE

Paradise Beach Park Master Plan

In June 2014, Marin County Parks contracted with SWA Landscape Architects for development of a master plan for Paradise Beach Park on the Tiburon peninsula. MORE

Stafford Lake Bike Park

In 2009, the Marin County Department of Parks and Open Space recognized a community interest in developing a bike park and examined a number of sites throughout Marin County. MORE

Stafford Lake Park Master Plan

In June 2014, Marin County Parks contracted with RHAA, renowned landscape architects and planners in Mill Valley, for development of a new master plan for Stafford Lake Park in Novato. MORE
