CAL FIRE Strike Teams
Marin County Fire Department's reputation as an excellent wildland firefighting resource is known throughout the state. Marin County Fire Department fire engines, formed into a "strike team", regularly respond to large wildfires throughout the state.
Incident Management
We employ experts in specific command and general staff functions that respond to fires as part of the California Incident Management Teams. These teams are dispatched when incidents overwhelm the local jurisdiction, requiring large numbers of overhead management personnel. With experts in command, operations, finance, logistics, and planning, the team plans, organizes, leads and directs thousands of firefighters in order to mitigate an incident. Members of the Marin County Fire Department staff key positions in the North Bay Incident Management Team, a Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Team comprised of personnel from Marin, Napa, Solano and Sonoma Counties.
