I.A.T.S.E. Stagehand Rates
Effective July 9, 2023 – July 6, 2024
Backstage personnel are determined by production requirements of each individual event, and are set by the Marin Center Technical Coordinator, Tony Taubert, after consultation with each User. Stagehands, Projectionists, Lights, Sound and Wardrobe Staff, as necessary, are contracted for through the San Francisco Local No. 16, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees I.A.T.S.E., and are paid for by the User through the Marin County payroll system. Union Stagehands, Projectionists, Light and Soundmen handle electrical and technical theatrical equipment in the Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium, Showcase Theater, Exhibit Hall and Fairgrounds.
I.A.T.S.E. hourly labor charges listed below include 10% vacation, 10.4% pension, 15.5% health and welfare. County payroll expenses listed are 6.15% Payroll Administrative, 1.45% Medicare, 4.43% workmen's comp.
Local #16 stage crew works holidays (New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, and 1/2 day Christmas Eve, Christmas, 1/2 day New Year's Eve) at time and one-half from 8am until 12 midnight.
