Director's Letter

Cultural Services

Dear Friends,

I am thrilled to share this glimpse of the incredible programming coming up in the theaters and Exhibit Hall of the Marin Center and Fairgrounds. Please click here to access our online Marin Center Magazine.

The Marin County Fair will run from July 1–5, 2015, and the theme is On With The Show! The ever-popular fair will offer family fun, special shows, concerts, exhibits, attractions and more, underscoring its popularity as the Bay Area’s most beloved and anticipated summer happening.

This spring, the Marin Center Presents series is full of music and dance. Dance highlights include the Russian National Ballet, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, and Pilobolus. As part of our music series, we are presenting the State Symphony Orchestra of Mexico preceded by a Mexican fiesta, as well as the great audience favorite, 105 Years of Broadway.

Bring your mom on Mother’s Day for a special performance by Deana Martin, who is making her Marin Center debut. Martin and her quintet will perform a tribute concert to her father, Dean Martin, and her godfather, Frank Sinatra. To make the day even more special, we are partnering with our neighbor, the Embassy Suites San Rafael, for a very special champagne brunch prior to the performance. Tickets for the brunch and the show are available at marincenter.org/tickets.

I’m sure you have noticed, after most performances, we have been sending customer surveys to you via email. Your feedback is very important to us; we want to learn about your experience so we can better serve you in the future. Please take the time to fill out the survey, and you will automatically be entered to win a pair of tickets to an upcoming Marin Center Presents performance. If you’re not yet on our email list, please click here to subscribe. Email subscribers receive the very latest information about upcoming performances, interviews with artists, and more.

We are also making some exciting changes to our operations. In the very near future you can pay by credit card at our concessions in the Redwood Foyer, and on sunny days, we will be extending some of our concession offerings to the patio. Coming soon, if you purchase our signature cup (with lid), you will be allowed to bring your drink into the theaters.

I have been the Director of Cultural Services here for several months now, and it has been so wonderful to meet you at our performances and events. Your patronage means the world to us. Together we can truly make this campus the cultural hub of Marin County—a community center that embraces and serves everyone in Marin. I look forward to exploring ideas on how to partner and collaborate with you and your communities. We are so grateful for your support.
