This program was established in 2018 when a Marin County high school student named Cameron introduced the concept and worked with the Elections Department to establish the Student Elections Ambassador Program.
The student-led approach is the core of this program where student ambassadors are taught about the importance and fundamentals of voting, and then through a peer-to-peer approach, educate their classmates about the process. Today, the program has expanded to include all young adults who consider Marin County their community.
The Marin County Elections Department, the Marin League of Women Voters, and the Marin Office of Education work together to provide training and support to the student volunteer ambassadors.
